"Choosing clothes", and also"husbands" Susan Chen

I have read this article twice. Every time after I reading the article, I always think a lot. Two Afghan women Ashrat Khwajazadah and Naheed Mawjzada lived in Flushing. They almost have the same appearance with the modern American people. However, since their different culture background, they seem to be not similar with each other.
According to the tradition in Afghan, women have no rights to choose their lovers and husbands. And also we all know that in the old society of China, women also had no rights to choose their husbands. On some occasion, their marriages are the tools for their family to expand their power. We can say it as a political marriage. Women have to sacrifice their whole life happiness to help their families achieve the goal. Probably the man is a good guy and as time going on, the man and woman can have love between. However, from my point of view, this kind of things seldom happens.
It seems that we have no rights to tell the culture in Afghan is bad or ridiculous, because we are not members among their country. However, I totally disagree with this kind of marriage. Why women have no rights to choose their own husband? Probably hundreds of years later, the government of Afghan or some others countries can realize the problem and change their law to protect women’s rights. “Choosing clothes,” and also “husbands.”
