According to the article talks about that Sarah invited her parents come to New York City to have Thanksgiving at her house, but she was terrified they wouldn’t have enough to talk about. In the past, they usually went to the movies instead talking to each other. But her sister, is coming and brings her seven-mouth-old son, so the cinema’s not an option
In my opinion, they try to live together, but it is very hard for them. Actually, it is kind of modern family or part of modern life.
The last paragraph said:” My sister wishes she were at home. My mom and dad wish they were home. I wish they were home too.” It is so funny sentence. It sounds like joking, but that is her really thought. I think it’s not whose fault, nobody was wrong in the family. It just every family has themselves life styles.

The writer invited her parents come her house to celebrate Thanksgiving but the writer worry about they wouldn't have enough to talk about because they have long time no see each other.They want to live alone.When they sightseeing the Ellis Island, they remember the immigrant experience.Their family all menber don't want to close to someone . The writer's father went away form their home when the writer was young. The writer also leave home and live in NY.Although they were running away, they have their new life and new goal in the new place.

In my opinion,I think they all want to alone because they want to make a new life. It's modern people's common habit.I like it,because we are all people,but someone is young and someone is old.They always can't understand each other.If someone feel your father and mother can't accept or understand your opinions,you will go away and find a new place to make a new life.People want to find somepeople who can talk and discuss whit them.They have same topic.
