MY brother just took a test which all korean high school students have to take after they grauduate. I fell always bad for my brother becuase im here. just becasue im older than him, i take adventage of being here. I wish i can take him with me and study abroad here, but it costs twice for my parents to pay it.
Before i came here, when i was in high school, my brother and i were always together. we always fought and talked to each other. however, nowadays, we can barely meet each other online. he always proud of me and always cheer for me.
studying abroad is a great chance, so i prefer my brother to study abroad later if possible.

someone who knows how to use language wisely can earn a lot of money and can be a rich. This ability doesn't come out randomely, we have to practice how to use it and how to deal with it. One word can express everything and can impact even one society. For example, "I have a dream " by Martin Luther king, this made amazing imapct on the society.
If there's no language, there will be no conversation between people, there will be no connection between people, and also there will be no intersetion between people at all. And i also think about if we don't have language, how about the poeple who work for language, like lawyers, news anchors, journalists, no nothing..

when i think of myself, i came here in the united staes because of language, and i went to school because of language, i met my friends because of language, it involves everything, i cannot imagine world without language. Im writing now, becuase i can write languge, im listening to music right now because they made music from words,language, im sending text messaging thanks to language...

Language itself has lots of history. i believe language is one of the powerful ability we have.

Every single kroean over 18 under certain age. if they are not disabled people. they have to have military service. This might be unfair for all young koreans but, at least we were born in korea so we have to go.

If my mom is a trans gender, i would kill myself. of course, she is not trans gender. if someone is a trans gender, it could be terrible for their child. Since they didn't mention to their child, their child might be very angry or be in serious position.
Of course, i do not against of trans gender. however, i do not support it. i don't see many success case around me, i mean in news, or newspaper.

why some people are trans genders? i think it is because of their environment. their parents life style, and what they have seen when they were grown up. i think they are poor in some cases. it is not their fault that want to be a trans gender. it is not wrong at all. but because of society around us, it is hard to have a life with trans gender.

i strongly recommend that someone wants to be female from male or male from female. they should not have their child. it doesn't matter that they want to change their sexuality. however, it is hard for their children to have life.

Obama said government can't solve every problem. it shows that he is democracy. if McCain is elected, the speech is going to be different. Barack Obama, the 44th president of United States, will listen U.S citizens, however, does it going to be happened? maybe, not. Barack Obama is smart and he knows how to deal with people, and he graduated #1 school, and he was congrassmen. however, citizens might angry about his ruling later.
Be a president is very hard, tough, and is very lonely. why lonely? Actually, when on the way back , after summer vacation, in the air plane, i read one book called; "living as chief" it is korean book, and my father suggested me to read it.
So after i read the book, i realized that how hard living as chief and how hard ro manage all company or even country.
there is noone can help him, president. he has to do everything bt himself. if he did well, all citizens will say "that's why we chose him", but if he did bad and economy or stocks are getting low, poeple will say "i knew he is going bad, he doesn't know anything".
being a president is a lonely journey. i want to applause for him again.

first, i wanna ask to people who support Barack Obama, why do you prefer Obama better than McCain? most of my friends support Obama instead of McCain. but WHY?

So, i asked every single person who support Obama, why do you support Obama? their answers were just becuase they like him. or they don't have answer.

Obama and McCain they both have drawbacks. For my opinion, Obama is too young to be a president, of course, old is not the best, but if the president is young, he doesn't have mush skill to business or trading skills. and he is just came out not like McCain. Obama is like a new toy for children. On the other hands, McCain is too old for president, and he went to army servise, so he practically weak in business. because he went to army service, he is more strict about war. if he ecame a president, U.S will be safe but war is going to be happened more often.

i do not support either of two candidates. however, i prefer Barack Obama, the reasone is that now Americans have to have more adventure of their economics. and they need a leader to have a powerful UnitedStates.
i don't know it is going to be good or not, but Americans threw their die and i hope that Obama is a good leader for United States.

If my parents are uneducated, i might be sad. when i was young i thought my parents are the best and they know everything. however, when i am getting old , i could realize that my parents are not smart enough than me.

some parts when im getting old, my parents could not know, however, i will not going to think like author. becuase my son or daughter will treat me like the same if i do that to my parents.

some parents make their children to have narrower minds. Of course, if their sons or daughters are not mature to make their decision, their parents have to teach and control what is wrong and what is right. however, when they are getting older, their parents have to control what they want to say, they cannot say what is wrong and what is right, becuase it could make them to have wider thinking, or sometimes they cannot have critical thinking.

in my case, when i was young, my parents used to tell me what is wrong and what is right, becasue i didn't know what is good thing or not. but when i was getting old, they stoped to tell me what is wrong and what is right, they just told me a better way to do something. becuase i was mature to decide what is wrong and what is right.

when i was young, if i did something well, always, not sometimes, always they said "your parents must be very proud of you" and i felt very very good.

however, this confused of him, the author. because when he grew older, he realized the lack of his parents' education.

Of course, you can be more highly educated than your parents, but education is not just one thing that someone is better or not. life experience for example, involves education also. you are younger than your parents, so you don't have much life experience than your parents. So you cannot say im smarter than my parents. Even if your parents do not know how to solve the math problems or do not understand science equestions than you, they do know more about how to save money, which is the fast way to deal with people, something like this than you.

For me, i know how to speak english, and i can have conversation with my american friends. but none of my family can do this. so im proud of myself. it doesn't mean that im smarter than my parents or becuase of their lack of english i don't have to learn about anything from them.
i still think that i have a lot of things to learn from my parents.

i read this article 3 tiems.. i feel like i lost my guy friends after i read this article. isn't it funny.?

whenever i think about my guy friends, they are my beer friends, or conversation friends or just friends that say hi, or maybe real my friends. before i read this article, i thought i have many real guy friends that i can talk about my everything, however, there are just few of them.

when i want to talk about serious stuff, usually i don't tell my guy friends. not because i don't believe them just becuase i feel uncomfortable. 'do they think im crazy? do they think im homo?' so i talk to female friends or family.

after i came to the united states, it became worse. most of my american friends are muscular and they don't talk about girly things. if i talk about my problem and serious stuff, they will laught at me and they are not gonna look at me like before they did. i think that's because here in the united states more have gay people than back in my country. i will give an example, at my age back in korea, most people listen to ballads than hip hop or rap. but in here, united states, if someone listens ballads, they are treated as gay or WEIRD guy.

but it is cultural difference, so it doesn't matter.

i think there is something else between males that females cannot think about it.

First of all, who is Steve Chen?

i was watching a new music video , and i was faced to interview with korean who is president of JYP entertainment and Steve Chen. they were talking about what You Tube in korea is going to impact to korean society. so i was wondering about him.

Steve Chen was born in Taiwan, and he is the Chief Technology Officer of the popular video sharing website You Tube.

He is just ten years older than me and he is a billionair. isn't it amazing?

A lot of people have a lot of ideas, because everybody has a different thought. if you don't use your ideas, it becomes trash. the fact is that i am still young and if i use my ideas well, i could be rich or famous. i want to try whatevery i want to do whether i fail or success because i can learn from the fail too.

he tried what he wanted to do, and he became a success man in the world. just small idea, just small incredible thought becomes you to be a million, billionair.

the most impressive part was #5. SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD. I found one quote from that chapter.

"I feel already happy when I can understand. The rest doesn't matter."

Sometimes I do work or do homework, or do something before I understand. Of course, the result is not good. There are steps before do start something. For example, if you have a assignment to write an essay. Before you start to write an essay, you have to fully understand what essay is about, what is the topic of an essay. If not, you are going to write totally different than what you’re wanted to write.

After you understand what you want to do, what you have to do, you can get a specific information and accurate source. Then you’re going to be happy for it.

So we know what we need to be an effective person. So let’s understand first!

when i was reading this book, i thought, this quote is what i need!
because im in the situation that have to learn English, and i know COURAGE is the most essential to learn a different language.

I couldn't finish the book, but it's really interesting book, and also easy to read.

When i m thinking about this quote, it reminds me when i came here first time,,
i was a bit nervous and nota talkative person.

NOW I AM HERE in the United States with a lot of American friends and leran English from them. the answer that i have been changed is COURAGE.

Courgage makes me to be brave and makes me have a lot of American friends.

The Boy in the book, his name is Santiago. he wanted to learn a different language, and he needed courage to learn another language.

All international students on the campus, they will suffer from learning english if they do not have courage to break the wall which stands between you and American culture.

Actually i read again when i wrote a quote. this is ridiculous becuase we still have racism to other people. i have many black friends, and i've never look them down or speak bad way to them, because i respect them. color doesn't mean their status.

"So will my page be colored that i write?" when i read this part. i dont' know what i have to say to my black friends. just because he is a black guy and the letter what he wrote would be colored? obviously, when he wrote this part, his heart was probably beating because of sadness.

More sad thing is that it really happenes around me. i stay on campus and i have black friends and white friends. when i hang out with white friends, sometimes they look down black people, or they say i don't like black people to me. i think because of their reaction, black people have bad emotion to white people.

i have searched about Langston Huges a bit. he was a poet, novelist, playwrite, short story writer. and also he is a GOOD LOOKING GUY! he is smart and has many friends. and he wrote extremely good poem. for this kind of person. we have to look up to it, not look down to it.

OUR FIRST CHAPTER TOPIC IS "ARE WE DIFFERENT?" THIS IS A GOOD START. WE CAN LEARN ABOUT A LOT OF ISSUES ABOUT RACISM.

oh I was shamed for my silence and i have carried that shame across oceans, ................I will never feel better about it. Like my reckless angry lst words to the one who took his own life.

After the elder woman's severe judgement, She was shocked seriously which lead to the vocal paralysis. But the resoult can not be changed even how regret she was which reflected the main idea of the " long overdue" . To my opinion, many misunderstanding was formed not only by the person who gave the subjective opinion , Sometimes the misunderstanding also could come from the incorrect silence. It could be understood that a person has his own opinion after different kinds of information resource and personal experience which is not objective. But most of people would be willing to listen to other's sound. the problem is that if you feel the opposite point of view which is incorrect, what you should do is to explain the truth and tell them the real world.

This kind of problem will not only appear in the culture problem but also appear in the current socity, when we are the employees in a company, don't be afraid to express your fantastic idea, the whole society need the surprising reaction. Although with the develpment of the globalization of the world, people have more interaction with each other from the five continents which will shorten the national boundaries. And I believe that the incorrect discrimination will be reduced throught the tight communication. The best way to approach is to share and express your opinion. When I come to america, the first impression from my roomate to china is only ancient that was really impressed, but now she knew a lot from me about china in terms of morden and technoligic. If you don't stand up and open you throat, the "long overdue will exist forever.
