Some people think we will have an abyss with our parents as higher education as we gain.As the author said he cannot afford to admire his parents.However,I am not agree with that.Because,higher education doesn't mean you can have a better life and doesn't mean you can shame on your family.
First of all,parents,they always have more experiences than us;they are well acquaint with how to live and how to get on well with others.They have so many thing which are well worth admiring and learning for us.
Second,you cannot live in this world without your parents.They gave you the birth and gave you all the material conditions in order to let you gain a better education.Though they sometimes have the opposite ideas and behaviors against you,we can try to communicate with them and try to influence them instead of embarrassing at their lack of education.
Eventually,parents love their children and hope them can live better than themselves,so,they try their best to give us the best suggestions they think and tell us which way we should go further while which we should not.Although sometimes the suggestion sounds not so nice for us,that just a kind of love only from parents to their children.We should respect them even they didn't have so much education.

People cannot seperate from their parents just because they have the higher education than their parents. They won't make any progress without their parents' surpports. Nowadays, a lot of the students do not respect their parents because parents didn't recieve a higher education than them. I feel really sorry for their activities. As you said we should respect them, they are our parents and give the life to us.

Parents, my eyes misted at the very thought of them
When I am getting older, I find that I become more sentimental whenever I am thinking of my parents.
For all the things I used to receive from them as nothing serious, I feel so grateful now. We take their love for granted, but their devotion to us is much more than what comes from sheer love. And I am sure that I can never have the same kind of devotion to them, however hard I try.
Their devotion makes me easily let go anything they didn't do well on me, or for any moment that they were really wrong. I think all the wrongs they did were for our good.
Therefore, nothing about parents makes me embarrassed or ashamed. I am proud of them, just as they are so proud of me.
