Different achievements of Women and Men:Quincy Shen

"Many teachers, both men and women, trained in the male-centered tradition, are still handing the ideas and texts of that tradition on to students without teaching them to criticize its antiwoman attitudes, its omission of women as part of the species."

This is a quote from "Claiming an Education" written by Adrienne Rich.
We cannot negate the influences produced from the unfair education system known as the author mentioned "male-centered" education system affect women's mentality balance and need to criticize.
People learnt achievements of women and men from their text books, and almost accept the knowledges or works inside. And the truth is, most of those knowledges are discovered or inferred by men.
For instance, men are rational and strong, many well known maths or physics' formulae are created by men. Otherwise, women are sensibility and circumspect; they may good at art. However, most famous art works are still made by men.
We know there exists some famous best seller books are written by women; but most globular books are still written by men. So what the problem is?
Did people disclaimed women's achievements? The answer is no.
Women and Men learn together, accept the same knowledges which also include women's achievements. But the consequence is different.
The only problem is, women should find a way that they can prove their srength or they can do it better than men do. Anyway, what is the way women can do better? Maybe a better way to solve this problem is taht women need to learn how to change themselves and envrionments, and become stronger, but do not like men.

I agree with your opinion that the women should chnge the situation by themselves. We first should admit that the males have more power in the society. However, nobody in the society will really ignore if what the woman has done is really significant to the society.

Women, make your voice heard

As some male classmates mentioned. it's not men who make women the second class, but women themselves who have made themselves satisfied with that status, because it is their nature.

If so, women have to speak out louder and make their voices heard, either in history, or in real life. Otherwise, as in all the history textbook, we women will hardly find any trace left by ourselves.

Though it's women's inborn nature to sacrifice themselves whenever it is needed, this sacrifice should be taken for granted and ignored intentionally.

Therefore, it's time to gather all the courage, strength and energy together and make women's voices heard, no matter how deafening the noise of the male-dominated society is.
