Where are the other voices(Liu Yang Xue)

When you read about or hear about ‘great issues’, ‘major texts’, ‘the mainstream of Western thought,’ you are hearing about what men, above all white men, above all white men, in their male subjectivity, have decided is important.”
It is a long sentence quoted from the Claiming Education and I really begin to realize something. I tried to look back the history again and as it is said the society was a “man” society rather than “human” society. Even among the males, the society is still distinguished. In the western society there was once only the white men’s society.
Where are the other voices? The black and other majority people were mot accounted. From this point we can figure out that it’s even harder for women to be taken into consideration. They might contribute to the society a lot, while they were just ignored by the society.Sometimes even the women themselves were unable to realize that how important they were.
This situation was also common in the ancient Chinese society. Females at that time were taught that there’s no need for a woman to get a high education and all they had to do was to serve their husbands and take care of their children.
Actually, everything that exists must make sense in some run. Sometimes it is good for women to stay home and take care of the family affairs so that the husbands can work outside without worrying about the daily life and the children can get a better education. But in another run, is that really fair to the women? It is a waste of women’s intelligence. The women will also feel less confident without having a job. To them is unfair.
It is the time for females to speak their voices out and to get equal right as the males have.

Men, actors on the stage; Women, supports at the backstage

The audience only see the actors on the stage and stay impressed by whatever the actors have shown to them. They consciously and unconsciously forget whatever happened at the backstage. They know dozens of supporters behind the stage have contributed to the success of the whole show. They are still deeply absorbed in the scenes on the stage only. No one wants to analyze who made the costumes on this actor, who are playing the background music, and who put up all the settings on the stage.

I think women have been acting as these supporters at the backstage. They did a lot but left little or no impression on the audience.

What do you think the supporters should do? Come up to the stage, as some shows do, and give the audience a chance to applause to them. As what Oscar Academy Awards are also given to the music composers and photographers, let women's value be appraised.

It's both men and women's duty. Women themselves cannot do it, if men have realized their part of role.
