"Afghanistan has a very patriarchal culture and women dont have rights."
This qoute is from "Choosing Clothes, but Not Husbands." What makes me write some comments about this quote is Muslim culture about women I can't understand. "A quarter of Afghan women have never been to school and only half have completed high school." I think women have the same right as men. "Men have corrupted vies of Islam." I agree with this comment. Not only Afghan men but also the other Muslim men made Muslim women involve in lower class than men. Women can study, go out to society with men, and choose their husband by herselves.

They should, but the question is how (leslie)
I am expecting about how to bring changes to tradition.
We know some tradition of a culture should be passed on and widely spread, but some other tradition might be deserted. What matters who will do it and how.
For Afghan women, some have already started to defy, some have already realized the necessary changes to tradition but just have no courage to be the rebel, some are still following without complaints or even knowledge about the problem.
Feminism has brought great changes to the status of women, but there is still a long way to go.
Actually, this problem existed in many cultures, including Korean culture. Don't you think so?
