A good woman is one who is educated(Jiaqi Huang)

"A good woman is one who is educated, both for ther children and her society."
----Chooseing Clothes, but Not Husbands

I am agree with this sentence. After I read the artical "Chooseing Clothes, but Not Husbands", I commiserated with the Afghan girls on the right to picking husband. I thought they let their parents choose their husbands because they don't have a good education. A good education can open their mind, let them think about more. The first story's Afghan girls had higher education but still waiting for their parents to pick spouses for them are wrong. What makes them still feel comfy about that? I thought is the family education. Their family keeping to tell them what is the way to pick husbands, they accepted that from childhood. I thought the higher education can change that. Maybe that women still married with a man picked by her parents, but at least she won't tell her children that's the way to pick spouses. The higher education can not change the tradition, but can change people's thought.

I am with you. I agree on higher education can change a person's mind, but I do not think education is able to change a trandition. Afghan women accept the spouse who their parents pick for them is a trandition, and it is an inheritable trandition. Hence, it is not easy to be changed.

In nowadays'society, people are more be brave to making innovations and reform. Especially after they gain the higher education. Some trandition which are good for them will stay. Some tranditions wich are disadvantageous to them will be threw over gradually.Such as picking husband by parents...

Tradition needs generations of generations reformer

"Maybe that women still married with a man picked by her parents, but at least she won't tell her children that's the way to pick spouses."

It sounds sad but sometimes it's true. Tradition cannot be overturned so easily and it needs some sacrifice. The women who received education and realized the problem with tradition and fight against it might not become one who could enjoy the result of success, but their struggle would
bring benefits to the following generations.

That's why we saw so many sad stories of failure in the previous generations of women, and now we become the beneficiary of the changes.

Thanks to those women who sacrificed themselves and brought us today's freedom.
