America's economy is becoming more and more dependant on the food industry and overconsumption, and this is making Americans obese. Obesity seems to be the consequence of a very efficient economy, and the way modern lifestyles have changed fuels the epidemic as well. Innovations in food preperation have turned once rare and labor intensive foods, like french fries, into any-time meals. This has increased our intake of calories, and combined with our more sedentary lives at work and at home our waistlines have growm. While advances in technology and industry are good for improving the economy, we have to be conscious of the affects on our health.
