"Reality TV : Supprising Throwback To The Past" (WooHyun Kim)

This article tells about how the American media can sell marriage and love. They are using money to bribe people into making huge decisions in a pressure situation, and the viewers love it. This results in the belittlement of the marriage system and lessens the value of getting married in the first place. If a person is getting married to a complete stranger based on first impressions, or even at the hands of whoever may be watching, the only value in the marriage itself is to get on tv. People these days value fame and fortune over love. The way these reality tv shows force people into poor decisions made on a whim is dumbing down society and turning something so important into a tool for entertainment. The thought that there are women that need a game show audience to choose their husband is appalling. And they wonder why Americas divorce rate is up.
