I think you have to put more details into this outline so that we can find out what you want to write about.

Also, your topic seems too simple, which has no much underlying meaning for you to analyze and develop.

Do you want to explain some other deeper meanings of American's love to dogs? What about their love to other homeless or disable people, or their adoption of orphans?

Try to expand your topic to include more about their love.
