This picture is definitely a great work with the theme of anti-war spirits. Then how do you want to use it to show something about America, since this essay is about America. Do you want to focus on the wars America is involved, esp. those wars which brought epidemic pains hurts to civilians and soldiers?
You have to connect it with America.
