"Politics and Race"
I feel this essay quite boring and meaningless. Writer gives the title "Talking about not talking about race" to this essay, but i think the title is totally different from the essay because both the title and the essay has different meanings. Before i started reading the essay. As per the title given to the essay, i thought the essay would be of making more racial difference by not talking about race. But when i read this essay, it was totally out of my imagination. Futher more when i read the essay i feeling that there is no connection of title and essay because the writer talks about the politics till the half essay finished and then she starts talking race later on. In the essay she has given couple of examples, but even i didn't get what that examples mean. Even the picture used in the essay is different from the reading materials. Picture also gives the different idea.

Actually it's not about politics, but about race. (Leslie)
The article sounds more boring than others, since it's full of argumentation and analysis. No story, no episode.
It tells us that in nowday society, racism seems disappeared, and everyone denies to have any racist attitude to other races classmates, friends, neighbors, etc. Actually, the reality is people just avoid this topic. However, the real-life statistics shows that it still exists.
That's why race becomes one of the most powerful strategies of Obama to fight against McCain ("play the race card") and it also becomes the main target for McCain to attack Obama.
The two pictuers show the different responses of the white and black students to the question about racism: the white students deny to have any racist attitude while the black think the white still have more privileges than the black.
Please read it again and quote some sentences and comment whether you agree or disagree with them.
