It’s a spirited dinner party……what to say or do.
A wonderful dinner party was destroyed just by a joke, the writer was seriously shocked, no matter now delicious the dinner was, just because of a racist joke. Actually I believe the purpose of saying this joke is to active the atmosphere in stead of embarrassing anyone, but finally it broke someone’s heart in front of the people.
In our daily life, people say some joke in order to make people happy, and we love to be friends with such kind of person. Unfortunately some jokes are always connected with some sensitive topic in terms of gender and racism, at this time, the speaker should notice that what kind of people are the audiences, or your purpose will be totally changed. You should know sometimes a little joke will heart the heart, even he will remember it in his whole life. In public, we not only should pay attention to our own behavior but also we should pay attention to other reaction. We can’t be selfish at any time, because our little behavior and conversation will influence other people.

After reading your sentences, that reminds me of an similar incident. As like your saying, some jokes are always connected with some sensitive topic, thus, speakers have to think more. Although, people say joke in order to make people happy, it may be taken any way audiencees think of it.
Dark Jokes no fun (leslie)
Any joke based on others' misfortune or insulting others' ethnic cultures or customs are all dark jokes. It's a happiness built up on others sorrow. Therefore, it's dirty jokes.
It's no fun to bring happiness in this way, even though the person who is made fun of is not at present. It's still so malicious to play in this way.
The people who are laughing with him, or the people who are listening to it and don't stop him, are all as malicious as that joker.
Therefore, never just stand there. Stop him, and you will stop ten more others who might do the same thing in the future.
