Outline (Chung-Chih Chi)

Topic: The social conflicts over oil
Purpose: To understand why there are still many wars, terrorism, malicious competition and invasion going on in the world.
Audience: Everyone in the world
Point of view: 3rd person
Thesis statement: Since people discovered oil and used it as our major energy resource, many countries have been fighting against each other in order to obtain the ownership of the oil because the amount of oil in the world is limited.
Introduction
-Discuss how oil is formed and why it becomes so valuable.
-Oil has been the largest trade in the world and countries that do not have oil have to rely on countries that have. The price of each barrel of crude oil is depended on the amount of crude oil is mined every day and one of the serious problem is that some countries will try to control the amount of crude oil that mine every day in order to get more profits from oil.
-Because oil is so precious and every country wants it, it causes many wars and tragedies happened.
Body
- Iraq and Iran war
a. Shatt al-Arab is the river that defines the border between Iraq and Iran. The most important of the river is that Iraq and Iran both ship oil along the river. Iraq was trying to control the whole river and the war began.
- Iraq and Kuwait war
a. Iraq was trying to request Kuwait to reduce the amount of crude oil they mine every day in order to raise the price of crude oil because Iraq just had the war with Iran and was in debt.
-Iraq war
a. America claimed that Iraq had biochemical, nucleolus or extensive destroyed weapons and many terrorists were hiding in Iraq. In fact, one main reason of invading Iraq is for oil. America wanted to control the huge amount of crude oil Iraq had.
Conclusion
-Oil brings people illimitable benefits, but also brings bad, such as environmental issue.
-The amount of oil in the world is limited, and people should start looking for other fuel to replace oil.

At the same time, do you want to comment on the countries with oil want to manipulate the world with their oil reserves, so that they control the economy of the world and control the stock market, which, as a result, brings the imbalanced or unfair competition, etc.
