On My Road (Jaeman.myung)

In the text, the writer left quest-journey for feeling something that in the Kerouac novel. The Kerouac novel inspired to him and indirectly suggested the quest-journey. He experienced new and difference things and feelings before he never feel travel. First of all, he ride on the bus, heading to south, which Kerouac mentioned in the novel. But differently novel, the bus is not romantic but poor. People who couldn’t afford planes, trains, or cars were in the bus. Most of them were African-American. After he arrived at destination, he stayed with his great-uncle. His uncle asked to look at other side of America. Also, he met a scared teenage soldier in the bus terminal. He experienced two aspects of the America from soldier story who participated in a Vietnam war. What he felt and learned from the his quest-journey is America, which had felt like a foreign place seen from bus windows a few months before, looked familiar, smaller because now he can understand and recognize about different side of America he never had known. The America which seems to have only nice thing he expect was not whole America. The other side of America has many problems like racism, war, trouble with white and black. If he had not gone the travel, he might have known these kinds things. What the better than reading the books is experience yourself.
