Through the experience of thanksgiving which her family first come to NY, a writer feel uncomfortable and also think about where she is in her life. She likes her family but doesn't like spend a time with them. They have same disease which define them as a family. Then they find out what their family is.
I think this isn't typical type of family strongly think they are new kind of modern family; do not depend on each other.
Nowadays, There are many nuclear family and they don't meet their parents for a long time. I think family should meet frequently. If they are a family, they don't need to meet in compulsion. They meet whenever they want. If they don't want to, they can stay separately.Family make people feeling free.
