Alone Together (JunHyung Park)

After reading this article, i really agreed with most part of things. Actually, economy is growing around a center of commerce like Manhattan, most of people tend to be gathered in big city. No wonder NewYork is a world economy city. So people come to NewYork from Ohio, Miami, even LA. Some students want to go to NewYork, because they want to get higher education. some workers want to go to NewYork, because they want to get better work place, or higher payment. all of these reasons are why people move to NewYork. However, are they move to NewYork alone or with their family? some people often move there together, but most people move alone like me. We alreay have seen that people live alone in their apartment alone. what else can we assume that why single individual households are increasing?
first, the more society are developing, the more people want to have their own job. long time ago, we thought that men have to work hard, and women have to take care of their children at home. However, now, everything is changed. the men want to get their job, the women want to get their job. these situations make people delay their marriable age. people want to work rather than to marry. that is the big reason why indivisual households is increasing.
Second. people tend to be more selfish, and also members of a family are decreasing.
the society is growing up much faster than before day by day. which occurs that people have to work harder as well as lose their free time. addintionally, the society is growing fast, and also competition between people and people or nation, and nation are also increasing. these situations make memners of a family decreased. beacuase people feel that it is getting harder to live. Moreover, as the society is more busy, people have no time to take care of their relationship. these are also big reasons why urban looks like loneliness.

for these reasons, do we have to think of city ,like NewYork, as desolate, and lonely? In my opinion, I do not think so. what is the big change between 1990 and 2000? It is internet. The more society is developing, the more internet is also developing simultaneously. Moreover, there is more internet activity, and club activity in NewYork than other rural communities. Maybe NewYork can be looked like very loneliness, but if we look at NewYork in very detail, or deeply, we can find people's laughing, and happy easily.

finally, weather it is a big city or small country, everything is depend on how people make their life more happy. If we assume that there are a lot of single individual households in Manhattan, which is really looked sad, why is the rate of suicide so low?
