Conversation is just like playing catch.
We cannot play catch without receiving a ball from a partner. When we are absent in mind, we will miss a ball. Likewise we cannot communicate and understand each other without listening eagerly.
However, it is true that to be an effective listener is very difficult. In general, Japanese tend to keep quiet when somebody is talking and let him or her express thought, but it does not mean that we are effective listeners. Being quiet and passive is totally different from really listening. Sometimes it shows that we are not listening but bored. I think that many people have experiences that apathetic or critic listeners made them lose will to talk. As Brenda Ueland pointed out in her essay, effective listening is “the gifted and great role, and the imaginative role.”

Just Be an Audience(GuangDi Zhu)
Every people want to be a speechmaker. But people don't like to hearken. I think your friends or your famliy will be appreciate if you can be a audient for them. even sometimes you don't have to understand what are they talking about. The true is people just want someone can sit down and give them a chance to narrate.
My great-grandmother was love me so much. because i was the only person who she can talk with. because she is a deafness. so no one want to stop and talk with my great-grandmother, she feel so disconsolate. i just sit down and try to talk with her, I will speak loud and slow. but we still can't communicate easy. but she told me it feel really felicity!

Volunteering to others is a way or process of sublimation of our lives. A Shy Experience.(Hugo,Chung)
Ten years ago, I had chatted with some girl for a long period of time. About almost more than one month.
At that time online chatting had just began and was really booming in my country for the younger generation.
At that time, indiscreet individuals were really interested and curious about each other.
We would chat every day and night though we do not sleep much at night.
And someday we decided we wanted to see each other in person.
(Before I go on, one thing I can say is at that time we could not exchange any pictures or watching cam at the situation of less technology.)
So we decided to meet in person in front of the record shop.
Another good thing was she was living near my place.
Finally we had met each other.
However, when we meet both of us realized she was my good friend’s sister.
At that time, we really didn’t want to believe it. So we were really shy and shocked. I would like to have gone hiding somewhere. I really thought I was stupid wondering why I didn’t know she is my friend’s sister earlier. However, while drinking coffee, we decided we should just keep this a secret forever. And she requested for me to never talk to her brother about it because she didn’t want any drama from her brother and parents because she had chatted with some guy. (Their family is a really conservative family.)
Moreover just then I also wanted this secret to be keeping hidden forever.
After that we just said our extremely typical bye, bye. And even now when I sometimes visit her house to see him, she is just pretending but secretly smiles to me without any communication.

Love in time of no time (Chongran Hao)
First of all, the title is really interesting. "Love in time of no time". When I saw the title, I didn't know it talks about "online dating". It made me want to read it.
"Online dating", this word is not strange any more in 21st century. A lot of people found love through it. Most of my friends do online dating, and they got love, even some of them got untrue love.
I agree with author anyway. Most people think the people from internet are untrue, they lie, they cheat. But I don't think that's could be a reason. Even though in the real world, the people lie and cheat every day. However, I agree online dating is a uesful way to get love.

From this article, we can see all of these persons are full of happiness and joy when they help others. They treat the people they volunteer with as their familyship even though they are refugee families.

After reading this article, suddenly one thing i remember. when i was high school student, my math teacher usually said like " Hey guyz~ do you understand?" All the students usually stayed in mute. At that time, the teacher really confused whether we did understand or not, and even the teacher let us say anything forcingly, after he said something. we were only eightteen or something, and did not know how important interaction was. After class, he often said that saying something after he said is really important to increase our quality of study, and even helped a lot between you and me in terms of math. However, even if i did not understand how importand it is at that time, i can understand how important it is now. When i graduated high shool, i sometimes did part time job in english institute to teach junior high shool students. However, one thing i felt was that " wow, i could understand what my math teacher said at that time" when i taught my class, my students did same action the way i did when i was a student. it was so terrible. I was too stuffy to teach my class. Moreover, i even felt that "Are they ignoring me?, or are they sleeping, pretending like they are understanding? this article remind me to think of when i had that kind of experience. the ariticle got me opportunity to reconsider how important listening carefully, and also reaction something to people who said us something.

As you can see, this is a part of lyric of the heal the world from Michael Jackson's popular song. when i read the article, i totally regreated myslef that i was not good volunteer. sometimes i had to do volunteering work for school requirement, which was not my own will. so i have to hang my head for shame. However, unlike me, if people will do volunteering works as their own will, i think we can make it a better place like theat lyric. there is a tendency that people live their life for only theirselves, or only money, or only something relatived to them. like these reason, how can we make more bright and healthy world?
Sometimes i make some plans to help poor people, or homeless people, but these are only worked in my thinking, not working in reality. that is a problem. Moreover, i already know, volunteering is really worth it, but why it is so hard to do.. i think most people might agree with me. So. even now is not late i think. if we know what is really worthy, we just have to to right now. Someday, we might get some helps from the people who we helped before.

After reading the articles, I think about the modern love.
Through the online dating, people should have married early. However, “Americans are marrying later and so are less likely to meet their spouses in high school or college.” This is the change because of the fast paced and high technology. Also, this is the change because of the different sense of worth.
When we are young, we would like to try everything interesting and do everything we can in order to enjoy our life, waste our time and pursue the fun. We can date online, meet people and do everything we want because we are young. We have time and energy. At the moment we adapt to this kind of life and let it become addiction. Our life changed. After all, things change, so do people. They come into our lives and they go. We will be alone.
As for me, loneness is pizzazz in 20s, an avocation in 30s and a disaster after 40. Maybe I am also the person who will overlook friends, but I believe that the ones I love are always in my heart and I will never be lonely.L

The title "Alone together" is interesting. The author uses some data to illustrate how is the situation of single households in New York City. For New Yorkers, the high urbanization leads people to select an isolated way of living. Everyone has his/her own business and living styles, which lower the attitude toward communication with others. Under the enviroment, more and more people decide to live singly. The final result is loneliness.

recently, a guy, his name is Ismail, hooked me up on internet, he found me on facebook and added me on facebook. Ismail said he is a soldier in Turkey. it was a great talk with him, but it is hard for me to believe somebody on Internet. Internet, the day it was born, is determined as no resiponsibility to any comments or behaviors. it is just a utopia for those who needs flirts and sparkles but not able to get in real life. the author mentioned sex and diappearing after a while of chatting. that is excatly what happening on the internet.
so i never have an optimistic attitude towards internet dating, neither would i like to try it.

remember the old times when a whole big family living together, no one has privacy, and all those rules from adults choked us; but now we are free, so what are we crying over? enjoy now, enjoy life!
