Topic: many foreign workers in Korea sometimes experience discrimination. And there are lots of conflicts.
1. Kim sung min The foreign worker who got violence from the Korean worker in the factory submitted a lawsuit to court. Korean worker hit foreign worker because the foreign worker couldn’t understand his word. The problem happened because of communication between Korean worker and foreign worker. Then, angry Korean worker threw a machine parts to the foreign worker. So, the foreign worker had a fit of apoplexy. He did not give any return. Furthermore, he does not have ability for charges of an operation. This article shows disregard about foreign worker and poor situation of foreign worker.

A study on gender equality released yesterday said less than half of Koreans believed sexual discrimination was a serious issue at workplaces. It showed eight out of 10 people saw less sexual discrimination acts at their companies compared to the past. This is the first time that the number of people who perceived gender inequality as a serious workplace issue has fallen below 50 percent since the study was first conducted in 2006. Of the female respondents, more than 34 percent said they have experienced sexual discrimination involving salary, promotion, educational opportunities and skill development sessions. The Korea Herald has reported on cases of blatant racism in the hagwon industry. One such case involved several schools and recruiters placing job ads for "white teachers only." I also heard a story of a telephone interview in which a hagwon owner, during his talk with a potential English teacher, hung up immediately upon learning that the applicant was black.
Korean people have some prejudgment based on unsubstantial facts about black people.

A recent visit to one store was typical. Did he have a national ID, the counter guy asked. He produced his Alien Registration Card, and the man brought out a chart matching up visa types with cell phone plans. Why is that? The answer is usually that the foreigner is considered a "flight risk." While the citizen may be more risky financially, the reasoning goes, the foreigner could always flee the jurisdiction altogether

On the other hand, the Qinghai brachiopods also demonstrate a significant link with the Permian brachiopod fauna of the Sino-Mongolian-Japanese Province in northeast China, as suggested by Marginifera septentrionalis and Attenuatella. In particular, the occurrence of the bipolar brachiopod genus Attenuatella suggests that southern Qinghai may have played an important role as a biogeographic stepping stone in the marine faunal interchanges between the northern and southern hemispheres during the Early and Middle Permian.

People kill for numerous amounts of reasons. One motive may be revenge. Usually, when someone kills out of vengeance, they do not think clearly, resulting in the instant decision to kill based on anger. Though most vengeful killings are not thought through or premeditated, some killings are. Certain vengeful killers filled with jealousy, anger, hatred, or a hunger for revenge may plan the definitive killing of a person or group of people using an intricate plan thought out for days, months, or even years. Although revenge may be one of the main reasons people kill, it is not the only one.
Mostly murders have unfortune background. A common belief is that people with a metal illness are dangerous because they can suddenly become aggressive. In reality, they are no more dangerous than anyone else. It is true that, in some instances, the symptoms of a metal illness can lead to aggressive behaviour, but this is rare.

This is accomplished by educating the young generations to all related issues regarding these sources and the related technologies. This paper describes the experience of introducing renewable energy in the curriculum for undergraduate students in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the steps taken to enhance the learning process. It only represents the first stage of implementing green energy education into an engineering technology program and highlights the impact of this experience on the students with respect to the environment and the community. Such experience is an example that can be followed in order to promote renewable energy technologies and to develop the expertise in this field in a country that has just started to embrace renewable energy.

Due to increasing oil and gas demand, the depletion of fossil resources, serious global warming, efficient energy systems and new energy conversion processes are urgently needed. Fuel cells and hybrid systems have emerged as advanced thermodynamic systems with great promise in achieving high energy/power efficiency with reduced environmental loads. In particular, due to the synergistic effect of using integrated solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and classical thermodynamic cycle technologies, the efficiency of the integrated system can be significantly improved. This paper reviews different concepts/strategies for SOFC-based integration systems, which are timely transformational energy-related technologies available to overcome the threats posed by climate change and energy security.
Plant oils as fuels for compression ignition engines: A technical review and life-cycle analysis.
Abstract:
As an alternative fuel for compression ignition engines, plant oils are in principle renewable and carbon-neutral. However, their use raises technical, economic and environmental issues. A comprehensive and up-to-date technical review of using both edible and non-edible plant oils (either pure or as blends with fossil diesel) in CI engines, based on comparisons with standard diesel fuel, has been carried out. The properties of several plant oils, and the results of engine tests using them, are reviewed based on the literature. Findings regarding engine performance, exhaust emissions and engine durability are collated. The causes of technical problems arising from the use of various oils are discussed, as are the modifications to oil and engine employed to alleviate these problems. The review shows that a number of plant oils can be used satisfactorily in CI engines, without transesterification, by preheating the oil and/or modifying the engine parameters and the maintenance schedule. As regards life-cycle energy and greenhouse gas emission analyses, these reveal considerable advantages of raw plant oils over fossil diesel and biodiesel. Typical results show that the life-cycle output-to-input energy ratio of raw plant oil is around 6 times higher than fossil diesel. Depending on either primary energy or fossil energy requirements, the life-cycle energy ratio of raw plant oil is in the range of 2-6 times higher than corresponding biodiesel. Moreover, raw plant oil has the highest potential of reducing life-cycle GHG emissions as compared to biodiesel and fossil diesel.

In June 2005, Governor Schwarzenegger addressed the United Nations on the topic of global warming and famously declared, "I say the debate is over. We know the science. We see the threat, and we know that the time for action is now." (1) Convinced by overwhelming scientific evidence, the California Legislature passed, and the Governor signed, a landmark law, referred to as "AB 32," which requires the State to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. (2) AB 32 poses significant, even daunting, requirements. By 2012, the California Air Resources Board will have issued extensive regulations for virtually every sector of the State's economy across all geographic regions that set forth specific actions for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. (3) The new regulations will use multiple mechanisms to achieve the reduction requirements, including the traditional command and control approach, market mechanisms, and regional targeting. (4) While the potential regulations and mechanisms have received a great deal of attention, much less attention has been given to an essential element of achieving the reductions: enforcement. We know from extensive experience that enforcement must be integrated into the process of creating regulations. Further, we must have enough regulators and prosecutors to ensure that enforcement is viable, appropriate and effective.

Abstract:
This thesis departs from a neorealist theoretical perspective but adds a rational actor perspective based on game theory. It shares Waltz' assumption of deep anarchy and the need for states to ensure their security but also maintains that actor prospects may be able to cope with the structural incentives in a flexible manner. Two cases of international politics are studied; 1890-1911 and 2001-2009. It is then argued that the historical case can provide a basis for limited probabilistic generalization about the use of hard power in a modern multipolar setting using a methodological approach based on the concept of transferability.

A reliable supply of energy is essential to maintain and to improve human being's living conditions. Compared to the conventional coal-fired approach, renewable energy (RE) helps to mitigate the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions to a large extent. As a newly developed sector with large resource potential and good commercial prospects, China's wind power industry is exceeding expectations. By 2008, installed capacity of wind power in China totaled over 12GW, making China the fourth largest wind market in the world. However, China has to admit the gap with foreign leading countries, mainly in technical R&D for large-scale wind turbine generation units. This paper attempts to formulate an analytical model for studying and assessing factors that have significant impacts on the local industry. In a context of widening inequality and governmental persecution of undocumented immigrants, central questions concern the social mobility of new ethnic groups formed as a result of mass migration from Latin America and Asia--especially the growing number of children of immigrants now transitioning to adulthood. This article presents findings from merged samples of two research studies in Southern California, the Children of Immigrants Longitudinal Study (CILS-III) and Immigration and Intergenerational Mobility in Metropolitan Los Angeles (IIMMLA). The focus is on the educational mobility of foreign-parentage (1.5-and second-generation) young adults of Mexican, Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Filipino, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Cambodian, and Laotian origin. The author examines factors that facilitate or derail mobility, including the role of parental human capital and legal/citizenship status, family and neighborhood contexts, early school achievement, acculturation, incarceration, and teenage and nonmarital childbearing, compared to patterns observed among native-parentage (third-generation and beyond) whites, blacks, and Mexican Americans. The article then considers the relationship between acculturation and mobility outcomes and the resulting new patterns of urban ethnic inequality.

The current conceptualization of deliberation may represent Western Enlightenment ideals in that it values rationality, publicity, equality, argumentation and reasoning. This essay explores the potential of deliberative democracy in non-Western contexts, such as the Confucian East Asian societies where it is often considered that the public sphere is less developed and people are reluctant to engage in public argumentation. Herein, several cultural traits of the collectivist East Asian societies relating to deliberation are identified, including the lower value of public talk, the strong influence of social position in talk and the unique traits of their cognitive reasoning processes. Considering these traits, the promises and perils of deliberation in the East Asian context are discussed.

Focused on the Chinese innovation, The paper researched on the typical experiences of foreign innovatiove countries and the revelations for china to build an innovative country. Firstly, the paper intruduced the original theory of innovative country:Schumpeterian's innovation theory. Secondly, it expounded the theory connotation of innovative country from two levels of technological economics and institutional economics and described totally the representatives and their basic theories of innovative country. A reliable supply of energy is essential to maintain and to improve human being's living conditions. Compared to the conventional coal-fired approach, renewable energy (RE) helps to mitigate the impacts of greenhouse gas emissions to a large extent. As a newly developed sector with large resource potential and good commercial prospects, China's wind power industry is exceeding expectations. By 2008, installed capacity of wind power in China totaled over 12GW, making China the fourth largest wind market in the world. However, China has to admit the gap with foreign leading countries, mainly in technical R&D for large-scale wind turbine generation units. This paper attempts to formulate an analytical model for studying and assessing factors that have significant impacts on the local industry. An improved dynamic Diamond Model is developed to help the international community to understand the status quo of the Chinese wind power industry. In order to build a stronger wind power industry, the elements identified in the model need to be strengthened.

Family idea is important for a country
Since the first day we came in the world, our parents tell us need to be revere elders. It is a traditional family idea for Chinese families and everyone should be adheres about this idea. In western countries children have no responsibility to take care their parents after their parents lost their work ability. The governments are taking all the responsibilities from young people to ease off their mental pressure, then young people have more time to work on their own business or for the country. The governments take the responsibilities at taking care for elders for young people could show that how powerful the government is, but it may changed the idea of a family should be. There’re different kinds of conflict in society, children are always have conflicts with their parents, especially at teenage. Some variations in race, gender or socioeconomic class of Koreans often lead to discrimination and stereotyping and prejudice. I’m planning to deal with these three issues. And I will discuss about; what causes this discrimination and this discrimination result in some bad cases, how we can solve these problems. Most of all, people in Korea are still claiming that Korea is a nation-state. This causes naturally a racial discrimination problem. As a result, many foreign workers in Korea sometimes experience discrimination. There is still sexual discrimination in Korea. And that’s because of Korea’s massive growth spurt over a short time. In addition, Korea was a male-dominated society only one hundred fifty years ago. So, these tendency remains and this makes women experience some discrimination and crash with men. People love entertainment and nowadays sport is for sure one of the favourite entertainment. In America proffesional sport is a huge industry with big money. Atlethets is a super herous with big fan base and sponsorships. It gives a lot of pressue for the sportman and he/she ready for everything just to have people's love and attention. In my essay i want to open the door for research and conversation about " Sport and performance-enhancing substances ". I would like to talk about not only drugs itself but more about social crash which i saw here, why people go to see bodybuilding competition, or other sport freak competition even tho they know that it is all about taking drugs? Why we asked our sportsmens for super records otherwise it is not interesting to watch. We are people who pushed others to take drugs, break law, and ect. The only real solution is for the fans to stand up and say "we don't want to see any more doping in sports." This hasn't happened, and probably won't. What this is about, pure and simple, is entertainment. We like seeing bigger-than-life people doing bigger-than-life things. The fans have arguably created the market for these drugs.
The next time you're at a bodybuilding competition and marveling at the extreme muscularity and sharp condition of the competitors, remember these moral, legal and ethical implications.
Regardless of the inequity, the law doesn't really seem to be much of a deterrent. It actually forces hundreds of thousands of athletes and bodybuilders to accept the associated risks in order to get the gear they need to be competitive; most doctors don't write steroid scripts for healthy athletes. This leaves the athletes little choice, and has, in essence, doubled the moral implications surrounding steroid use. Not only does every legitimate amateur and professional sports federation ban the use of anabolic steroids, but, so too does the law. Technically, a very large number of professional athletes and bodybuilders continually run the risk of getting banned by their sport's governing body and going to prison, not to mention dropping some serious money on the defense. In essence, they're risking the total meltdown of their athletic careers.
The same goes for football, baseball and a big chunk of the Olympics. Usually, the most competitive athletes in any sport are seriously breaking the law for your viewing pleasure. The widespread ready acceptance of this not only by the athletes, but by the audience as well. I mean i dont understand why we foolish ourself with all those banners, but we all know all athlets are using drugs. Why we just cant admit it. Or it is more interesting to play game of guessing and rumoring who is taking what?

Therefore, many second generations experience conflict between two cultures.
Because of the differences between family life and school life of Asian Americans, this differences lead them to have a gap with their parents, who is not familar with American Culture.
As I have seen many young korean American generations in United States, I really wanted to research asbout this issue and want to find the solution for them.
(Unfortunately, there are only few references I could find upto now.. :-( )
After I have been studying with Americans in this school, my identity as Korean is getting stronger, which helps me to be who I am.

In the modern socity, becasue lack of sex education, therefore kids don't really know what is right to do within having sex, therefore a lots of teenager get pregnet or abuse many ideas on sex, however it is obstract the society. consequently it cause a lots of problems both to government and parents.
Also, because of cultural different, teenagers start learning other contries,because in the west coutries, people can have sex in thier early age, therefore they are more open than people living in east countries. but within lack poor sex education, teenager start tring every possible chance for sexing in different place or having sex illegally.

In the current world, the divorce rate is much higher than decades ago. The divorce rate is a signal of the relationships between couples. The raising devorce rate shows that the conflicts between couples increased and expanded.
In my research paper, I would like to generally introduce some details of it and find out the reasons why more and more couples divorced. And actually I am also going to predict the tendency of couple relationships in the future according to the research.

Due to the diversity of culture, it may cause inevitable conflicts when two different culture collide. The result can be slight as Chinese can not adapt American fast food, and it can be serious as Israel and Palestine have been fighting for so many years. We are living in the world with many ethnic groups. Each ethnic group has their own religious belief. Therefore, they have their own way of living. No one can judge what they do is right or wrong because it depends on their belief but the world is not as easy as that. People with different religions always want other people having the same thinking, same action such as Christian, catholic people don’t like Islam people because Christian and catholic people think that Islam people are always terrorists. They just make the world become crazier. I have read some articles about the cultural conflict between many religious beliefs. In these articles, Islam people feel racial discrimination in America although they are good people not like terrorists in Middle East. Therefore, the collision happens between Islam and Catholic, Christian people in America. Moreover, America is a country of many ethnic united, a lot of people with different religious beliefs such as Buddhism, Jewish, Islam, Catholic people… are living together so the misunderstandings between these people are inevitable. It is really hard for people to understand each other but we have to try although it may take a long time. I believe that one day people will come to understand each other and peace is around the world, no more wars and collisions.
